Peapod
Peapod
from $395.00
Peapods were designed and developed in the late 19th century for lobstering in Maine. Their stability and shallow draft made it easy for lobstermen to haul traps, but they were also extremely seaworthy and were favored by lighthouse keepers to get to and from offshore lighthouses along the coast.
This Joel White-designed Peapod was built by his grandson, Sam Temple, of Rockport Maine. In the words of Sam himself, “If I could only have one boat, that would be the one.”
