Greenland Workshop 2024
I'm thrilled to announce that I will be teaching a photo workshop onboard Arctic Earth in Greenland this coming summer!
Arctic Earth is a 56 ft expedition cruising yacht designed by Ed Joy Design and Lyman-Morse. The vessel is captained by Magnus Day, whose experience in arctic cruising is renowned, and Julia Prinselaar as the first mate. As many of you know, my professional photographic career began with cruising to remote destinations. In returning to this type of voyaging, I'll be sharing my experience with a small crew of classmates, allowing for an intimate and thrilling experience combining sailing, nature, and maritime culture as we visually capture the unparalleled beauty of Greenland.
Photo Coastal: Disko to Sisimiut with Alison Langley. June 11 - June 18
Individual berths are available with an option for full vessel booking on a first-come, first-served basis.
Four expedition members will fly into Ilulissat to meet Alison Langley and the boat crew. Alison has photographed many of the world's most remote and unique locations by way of cruising yachts and is one of the world's premiere nautical photographers. She will share her expertise and creative guidance in this semi-private
workshop setting. We will explore the huge icebergs of Disko Bay and seek hideaway coves for hikes ashore. After
exploring Disko Island, we plan to hop a sail with a southerly breeze along the coast, stopping in Aasiaat and
Attu to check out Greenland's maritime culture – and hopefully a qajaq (kayak) or two at the local qajaq club –
before landing in Sisimiut. Alison will help you develop your individual perspective and style in storytelling, with
instruction on how to work artfully and optimally in the saltwater environment.
Please visit Arctic Earth for details about the vessel and cruise and to book your spot for this exciting workshop.
